Hello everyone! My name is James Tosti. I have been in the health/fitness industry for many years. I grew up in a family that owns a supplement company, when I was 17-18 years old I became the weekend manager of a supplement company. I have been a personal trainer for over 7 years, having trained over 1,000 clients in that time. I can do anything from bodybuilding, weight loss, functional fitness, nutrition counseling, injury rehab (or corrective exercise rather, after a physical therapist clears a patient to exercise on their own), which is honestly one of my favorite type of clients to train, because I love helping people be more functional in their day to day activity, I love solving problems, and more than anything, I love helping people live the best quality of life that they possibly can. I also am a licensed Massage therapist in the state of Washington, and even though I can do regular relaxing (Swedish style) massage, my main focus is on treatment massage. Correcting posture, muscle imbalances, chronic areas of pain, and overall helping each individual that I'm blessed to be able to help live the best, most pain free life that they can.
My display name "badlifeadvicefromjptosti" is mostly a joke, because as you'll probably see, I like to rant and share my own opinions, that have no scientific basis for what I say. but I will always share my ideas, because they could possibly help. These ideas that I share, are just from personal experiences and results from hundreds of clients with specific issues that have had success in recovering from life long chronic problems.
To be honest with you, all the information that you could ever need to become a personal trainer is right there for you online, ready to go. the only problem is, most people don't enjoy exercise, most people don't want to spend hours and hours and hours going through all the information and determining which is accurate and which is a sales pitch. thankfully though, I love filtering out all the bullish** for you, because I love reading and I love learning new things about my passion. I will do my best, in time, to write a fairly detailed fundamentals of fitness and proper techniques to help each of you understand the concepts of why we do the exercises we do, because I believe that proper information should be available to everyone and not just to the people that can afford a personal trainer 3 times a week.
That being said, if you need further assistance, I do write online training programs that are customized to each individual, but that is not my goal for this blog. I will do it upon request, but I reserve the right to turn down anyone that I don't believe will follow my instruction, because I fully believe that personal training is personal; and just as lots of clients get to interview their trainers to make sure they're a good match, I believe trainers should interview their clients to make sure they're a good match. but that being said, I will generally take on anyone that is serious, and will follow instruction. But more than anything, I hope that you will be able to take away a positive mindset, help me create and encouraging and supportive community, and learn something helpful from one of my rants or topics that I write about.
